Clean Coal Technology (CCT)

Clean Coal Technology is intended for using coal, which is more abundant and cheaper than oil and natural gas, in an environmentally friendly manner, and is a key technology of the 21st century for addressing global warming. Especially since the coal gasification process provides higher energy efficiency in CCT, it is expected to be more widely used for a power generation and chemical raw material. Chiyoda offers plant technology to maximize coal use efficiency and minimize environmental impact in various plants that use coal-gasified synthetic gases. CCS (Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage) technology plays a key role in using coal in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Carbon dioxide capture is classified into pre-combustion capture and post-combustion capture. Pre-combustion capture is the capture of carbon dioxide following the processing of the synthetic gas before combustion. Post-combustion capture is the capture of carbon dioxide after combustion. These technologies for capture of carbon dioxide and the technologies for disposing of a large amount of carbon dioxide are important for CCS.

Chiyoda offers optimal CCT systems to suit client’s needs.

Optimization

In addition to carbon dioxide capture/disposal processes, Chiyoda offers a totally optimized system by applying CCT technology in a comprehensive manner to the purification of synthetic gases, the adjustment of gas components, and the optimization of utility facilities and the effective reuse of waste water in power plants and chemical production plants.
