i Water™ System
Based on our plant wastewater treatment technology accumulated since the 1960’s, Chiyoda developed a next-generation water recycling system as a solution to cope with the increasingly severe water shortage, and offers a system that recycles industrial wastewater into i Water™ (industrial water). This system consists mainly of the following three technical elements:
- An optimum solution that integrates process engineering, utility engineering, and wastewater treatment engineering that Chiyoda specializes in
- Water treatment system that incorporates the latest water treatment membrane technologies, such as MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) and RO (Reverse Osmosis)
- Response to requirement of variable resources recovery and ZLD(Zero Liquid Discharge)

- This energy-saving wastewater recycling system recycles industrial wastewater from petroleum and petrochemical plants and other chemical plants and brings these wastewater to the quality required for re-usage in plants as recycled water, in the volume they require, while allowing for the use of redundant utilities.
- A water recycling rate of 65% or more can be achieved. In addition, a water recycling rate of nearly 100% can be achieved by ZLD system, enabling compliance with strict environmental regulations.
- This system has both lower initial and running costs than conventional systems. In addition, this requires a significantly smaller installation area.
- Application: Refinery and petrochemical plants, GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) plants, and other chemical plants.
