CASOX PROCESS is the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) process using the high performance desulfurization catalyst developed by Chiyoda for small and/or medium tail gas treatment system.
The sulfur dioxide (SO2) in flue gas is adsorbed at catalyst, oxidized with oxygen and vapor in flue gas, and dilute sulfuric acid is produced. Catalyst can be continuously operated without regeneration, because the dilute sulfuric acid is naturally desorbed from the catalyst layer.
The sulfur dioxide (SO2) is removed from flue gas by means of a honeycomb-shaped catalyst in the FGD reactor. The clean gas is released to the atmosphere through a mist eliminator. By-product dilute sulfuric acid is naturally desorbed from the catalyst layer and fallen to reservoir of reactor.
Dilute sulfuric acid can be reutilized as valuable resource.

High SO2 removal performance(up to more than 99%) can be achievable in this CASOX. In addition, the performance can be varied by the catalyst volume to follow client’s specification or regulation.
Simple process without recirculation pump and absorbent supply can be minimized the plant construction, operation and maintenance costs than traditional FGD process.
Valuable by-product and Zero waste water make it possible to establish the Zero emission process.
The less number of equipments and operating parameter are simplified the plant operation and maintenance.
The stability of the catalyst has been verified by a variety of tests.
The honeycomb structure of Catalyst can keep the stable operations, even if the flue gas contains dust.
