Environmental

The interest in global environmental preservation issues such as global warming due to greenhouse gases is increasing. Aiming to achieve harmony between energy and environment, Chiyoda has been offering environmental preservation technologies since its foundation. In addition to offering licensed technologies, Chiyoda has been active in developing its own technologies in the fields of air pollution control and water purification, and has delivered these technologies to various clients as environmental pollution control technologies. Continuing in this spirit, Chiyoda is developing new technologies and improving existing technologies.

Chiyoda’s Own Environmental Technologies

Flue Gas Treatment Technology (Flue Gas Desulfurization and Denitration Technologies):

Flue gas desulfurization and denitration technologies are environmental technologies for removing sulfur oxide (SOX) and nitrogen oxide (NOX) from flue gases resulting from fossil fuel combustion. These technologies are available in various facilities from small- and medium-scale tail gas treatment facilities to large-scale thermal power plants.

  • Chiyoda CT-121 Flue Gas Desulfurization Plant
Chiyoda has so far constructed many flue gas desulfurization plants for large-scale coal-fired power plants. In Japan, Chiyoda offers EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services, and in overseas countries, licenses the technology to local licensees.
  • Catalytic SOx Oxidation Process (CASOX PROCESS)
The CASOX PROCESS is a process that uses a high-performance desulfurization catalyst developed mainly for small- and medium-scale tail gas treatment facilities.
Wastewater Treatment Technology:

Wastewater treatment systems are comprehensive systems that logically combine various components to remove impurities, such as oil, organic matter, and minerals from wastewater and achieve the required water quality. In recent years, more and more wastewater treatment systems reuse treated wastewater to compensate for the shortage of water. Chiyoda has been engaged in the design and construction of industrial water treatment facilities for various plants and wastewater treatment facilities for many years. Chiyoda has so far constructed a few hundred of facilities in Japan and in overseas countries, contributing to global environmental preservation.

  • Biofiner
Biofiner® is a aerobic fixed-bed biological treatment system that is characterized by its cylindrical nonwoven fabric floating carrier (Biofiner® carrier) with an excellent microorgnism retention property.
  • Selenium Ferro-reduction Process
The Selenium Ferro-reduction Process immobilizes selenium as iron hydride and can be applied to remove selenium from wastewater in various facilities, anything from thermal power plants to chemical plants.
  • CPI Oil Separator
The CPI Oil Separator employs corrugated plates in the oily water separator developed with Shell’s technology, enabling a larger amount of oily wastewater to be treated with a smaller size. In addition, it has a simple structure, facilitating maintenance.
  • i Water™System
The i Water™ system is a next-generation water recycling system that recycles and reuses industrial wastewater to mitigate the increasingly severe water shortage.
