North American project to install CHIYODA THOROUGHBRED 121 (CT-121) FGD system at Plant Bowen of Georgia Power under the control of Southern Company (SoCo), which is a major utility company in the US. Plant Bowen is the largest power station of Georgia Power with two 750MW boilers and two 950MW boilers. The CT-121 FGD system has been installed for each unit. Chiyoda licensed the CT-121 process to Southern Company Services, Inc. (SCS), which is a subsidiary of SoCo. SCS has worked as the EPC contractor for this project. Chiyoda has checked and reviewed the SCS design, and dispatched engineers for construction and commissioning. SCS configured a “design template” of the CT-121 FGD system for a 750MW and a 950MW size unit at the beginning of their Environmental Program. The same CT-121 system design has now been applied to nine other coal fired boiler units in the SoCo territory.
