Record 26.7 Million Manhours without a Lost Time Incident in Qatar

Record 26.7 Million Manhours without a Lost Time Incident in QatarChiyoda has achieved a record for no lost-time-incident (no LTI) manhours in constructing 6 trains of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants in Qatar for Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (3). RasGas (3) is a joint venture owned by Qatar Petroleum (QP) and ExxonMobil Corporation (ExxonMobil). ExxonMobil aims for the highest safety requirements for plant construction in the world. Our safety initiatives to meet these strict requirements resulted in achieving 26.7 million no LTI manhours, a new record for Chiyoda.

On-site construction was executed by Chiyoda-Technip Joint Venture (CTJV), a joint venture between Chiyoda Corporation and France's Technip. It involved approximately 22,000 CTJV employees, including staff members from Technip and workers from 52 countries including India and the Philippines. This no LTI manhour record was a result of close collaboration between the client and the large and diverse construction workforce irrespective of nationality in putting safety first in all activities and in building a safety management framework aiming for zero incidents.
