In the fiscal year ended March 2011, Chiyoda presented basic principles (below) and carried out activities for contributing to local communities.

Japan
- Internship/Workplace Experience Program
The Chiyoda Group offers internships for university undergraduate and graduate students. Sixteen people participated in internships in the fiscal year ended March 2011 at Chiyoda. In addition, 19 people participated at Group companies in Japan.
- Dispatch of Instructors to Universities
The Chiyoda Group dispatches personnel to universities to serve as instructors. Eleven employees gave lectures in the fiscal year ended March 2011.
- Environmental Classes for Elementary Schools
Chiyoda builds plants around the world that handle water and air, and we utilize that experience to educate the next generation. The classes emphasize the importance of water and environmental conservation. In the fiscal year ended March 2011, we provided environmental classes for 126 fifth-grade students at Tsurumi Elementary School in Yokohama City and 51 fifth-grade students at Daigofukuda Elementary School in Kurashiki City.
The content of classes by domestic Group companies for elementary school students are reported in the Group CSR Report 2011.

- Training for Educators
The Chiyoda Group invited educators to participate in its in-house training program to help them improve their school management skills and support nurturing of students. In the fiscal year ended March 2011, twelve people took part in the class at the request of the Keizai Koho Center, and gained hands-on experience in 3D CAD operation.
- TABLE FOR TWO(TFT)/Support for Children in Developing Countries
Chiyoda is implementing the TABLE FOR TWO program in the cafeteria at its head office to provide support to children in developing countries. A total of 2,055 TFT meals were served during the fiscal year ended March 2011.

Chiyoda Group companies overseas conduct the following activities.

Lecture at University of the City of Manila(CPh)

(L&T-Chiyoda Limited (L&TC))
As part of its social contribution activities, CPh sends employees to serve as instructors for seminars held at universities in the Philippines. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, one employee instructor gave a lecture on LNG to around 25 chemical engineering students at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila). Another employee gave a lecture on group management to 40 students at University of Santo Tomas.
The lectures received positive reviews from the students for their fresh content, including information about technologies not taught in school.
The company plans to continue this instructor dispatch program to contribute to the development of the Philippines through cultivation of human resourdes.
- Sponsorship of Seminars
L&TC provides opportunities for education and training to help impoverished children and women become independent.
